“Semen Retention: Is It Really Just A Number?”

I am currently in Day 11 of semen retention (SR). Although I have not ejaculated for 11 days, that does not mean that I am not “tempted” greatly for a release. I have read that if I can make it past a certain point, it will get easier. But until then, my male body seems to have a great “bag of tricks” at its disposal to force me into having an ejaculation.

Here are some of the ways my male body is coercing me for an early release of semen:

1. Increased prostate activity. Yes, I can feel my prostate trying to work on my penis and vice-versa. Yes, guys, I’m talking about erections. When the prostate starts talking to you, you should listen! I try to relieve this “prostate horniness” with an Aneros session. It usually works.

2. Spontaneous erections. I noticed that beyond Day 10, I start getting spontaneous erections, usually later in the afternoon. Obviously, it is a way for my body to tease me into thinking just “why” they are occurring! If I take no action, I can rest-assured that they will come the next day!

3. Extreme arousal. I experienced this recently at night and blogged about it. For no apparent reason, I had the most extreme arousal with an erection that I can remember. I did not act upon it, although it took me “nerves of steel” to withhold an ejaculation.

4. Wet dream. I have not actually had one yet but I feel one is very close. While wearing my “chastity cup” to bed, I just feel that it is only a matter of time before I wake up with the inside of the cup wet with semen. Recently, while in a very aroused state, I remember squirming around on the bed, moaning. The next thing I knew it was 4 hours later and my erection had subsided! Anything could have happened in those 4 hours, even a wet dream! When I awoke, I quickly checked the inside of the cup for you-know-what!

5. Extreme penile sensitivity. I have noticed this recently. The tip of my penis, specifically, the glans, becomes extremely sensitive to touch or rubbing on the inside of the cup. I believe this is nature’s way of insuring an ejaculation for the male. How to prevent this? It is very difficult, especially with an erect cock.

6. Mind games. This is a biggie, IMHO. Your brain tells you that you haven’t ejaculated in “X” days, so you better or else you will have some serious issues! What is needed here is a mind-over-matter posture that I CAN continue my SR practice and not worry about a thing. But easier said than done.

7. Blue Balls. This is a real show-stopper for me. Guys, if you’ve had these, you know what I am talking about. I really don’t want to masturbate/ejaculate but I don’t know any other way of successfully relieving the pain. However, recently in Day 10, I began to feel the “twinges” of blue balls. This time, I just ignored it and overnight, it disappeared! Does this tie-in with #6? Intriguing thought…

8. Edging or “Surfing”. I find personally that if I edge or surf AT ALL during a semen retention “run”, I will not last! My system fills-up fast with semen and the pressure builds-up. The dreaded “blue-balls” will become so severe that I will need to ejaculate to relieve the discomfort. I know some guys who are not affected at all by blue-balls. Boy, are they lucky! I guess my body is not built like theirs!

Staying the Course —– It is never easy when embarking on the path of semen retention (SR). But I really like the benefits in the way I feel. I don’t need to explain them here; you can look them up online. All my research tells me that I will be just fine; my male body will find a way to release my semen one way or another. If the “arousal coaxing” doesn’t work to induce an ejaculation, another “trick” may (like blue-balls). And if that one doesn’t work, the ultimate “trick” —a wet dream—will definitely end the SR streak! Staying this course certainly is not easy for most guys; many will give-up only after a week or two. But in progressing (powering?) through the various pitfalls of semen retention, I believe that guys have a lot to learn about how their bodies work. Of course, the fringe-benefit of all this is almost too much sexual arousal for a guy. If you like that feeling, you will love semen retention! I sure do!
