First time, didn’t really feel anything.

I’ve been playing with my butt for a few months. I finally pulled the trigger and got my Aneros Helix Syn today. After some warmup, I got it inserted all the way, and I felt…nothing. I tried contracting my pelvic floor and sphincter muscles. It didn’t feel like much except for the normal fullness I felt from my fingers. Don’t get me wrong, it still felt nice to have it inserted, but I don’t think it was touching my prostate at all. I measured it against my finger and it’s almost exactly the same length.

I’ve read about dudes who have prostates that sit a little higher than normal, so I guess that could be the case. Or it could just be that I don’t understand how it’s supposed to work yet. But overall, it was a total let down 🙁

  1. Don’t worry, that’s a totally typical feeling and not a bad sign at all. It’s almost 100% sure that the Helix is making contact with your prostate. Your prostate isn’t a magic orgasm button, it’s a sensitive lover that you have to build a relationship with. It’s easy to get hyped reading people’s stories of super orgasms, but it really is a journey to take step by step that will be unique for you.

For now, your first goal should be to feel some pleasure from the Aneros. Get yourself really aroused, warm up and massage yourself then insert the Helix. Make sure it’s lubed well!

Spend some time relaxing your muscles, then go ahead do a very slow version of normal masturbation, touching your penis and all. If you start to get some good feelings in your prostate or around the tool, stop stroking and focus on the pleasure and talk up the feelings to yourself. If they fade out, go back to slow stroking until the next round. Touching yourself and light to medium contractions are ok, but don’t deathgrip your pc muscles, anus or abs. Try to relax into the pleasure and talk it your prostate sensitivity to yourself. If you’re getting tired or sore, take a rest.

Once you start to condition yourself to interpret the aneros and prostate sensations as pleasure, you can start experimenting with the meditative aspects of it. Have fun and enjoy the process without focusing on the end goal!

  2. I too thought I had a weirdly situated prostate, but it simply took me a while (some months) to actually be able to feel the kind of sensations that come from the prostate

  3. Hey! I wanted to reply to your post because I’ve been where you are. I got my Helix Syn last summer, my first sex toy ever actually, and I’ve learned to love this fucker. My first experiences, however, was, as you describe them, disapointing. I didn’t feel much, and I was sure it wasn’t hitting my prostate properly. But I can say now that it definitely did, but the sensations was probably too unfamiliary and subtle for me to notice and interpret as pleasurable. I believe the feelings these toys produce is something you need to learn to like. After a couple of weeks/months of use things definitely got better, it started to actually feel pleasurable and I had my first prostate orgasm.

Personally I think manual contractions are counterproductive. For me, it can actually kill all the good sensations. I prefer to just lay back, relax every muscle in my body, breath deep into my stomach and observe any small sensation in and around the prostate. The device will subtly move around by itself and rub against the prostate, and the good feelings will slowly grow stronger until I orgasm. After the first orgasm has ended, it doesn’t take long before the next one comes, and the next one, and the next one.. Last night I had consecutive prostate orgasms every other minute for an hour or so. They still doesn’t feel as intense as a penile ejaculatory orgasm, but it’s getting there. However, I could never achieve 30+ penile orgasms within an hour, so I’m not complaining.

Anyways, my point is, keep using it regularly and you will be gifted with great pleasure. Be patient and try not to force anything.
