I have both but now seem to prefer the “chastity cup”. I actually don’t wear my CB-6000S cock cage much anymore. It isn’t that I don’t like it; I seem to prefer my hard “chastity cups” more. I’m trying to figure out why…..Here are some pros and cons of each.
One thing which both methods for male chastity have in common: both prevent masturbation and ejaculation. But once that is acknowkedged, some advantages and disadvantages of each become manifest. I’d like to elaborate on a few of the more obvious ones here…

Once locked-up, there is no possibility of release except with a key. If the male is not the keyholder, this will become extremely frustrating for him. (The “chastity cup” , however, relies on the “honor system”. I can release myself at any time just by pulling-off the cup! If this chastity “play” becomes too frustrating, the male can put himself out of misery).
Advantage: cock cage
A male wearing a cock cage can urinate easily through the slit in the cage, usually by sitting down. (The “chastity cup” in contract, requires removal of the cup in order to urinate, standing-up).
Advantage: cock cage
The cock cage provides intense stimulation when an erection occurs. I know, I’ve had them. (In contrast, erections in a “chastity cup” are nice but not extremely arousing. They are not supposed to be).

Advantage: “chastity cup”
A “chastity cup” is the perfect complement to my Aneros sessions. It does not get in the way. The “chastity” cup is usually held in place with a common jockstrap with pouch for the cup. The straps generally do not get in the way either of the prostate massager. (In contrast, it is more difficult but not impossible to have an Aneros session while wearing a cock cage. Obviously, some body positions are quite uncomfortable such as lying on stomach while wearing a cock cage. So, the side positions are favored by me. Also, erections during a session could become annoying since attention would shift to the penis when it should be on the prostate).

Put delicately, a “chastity cup” can hold cum. If I have a wet dream while wearing a “chastity cup” (like I already did), all the ejaculate is contained within the cup pouch; very convenient! Likewise, a hands-free wet orgasm during a session is treated the same way, without a fuss. (In contrast, if I only wear a cock cage, an ejaculation within it could become quite messy! It may even leak out and make a mess on the bed. The cage would have to be removed to completely clean-up. And what if the keyholder says “NO?” Then what? )
Advantage: “chastity cup”
A “chastity cup” can be worn overnight and I often do so every night. It is not painful when nocturnal erections normally occur. In fact, erections are very arousing and noticeable while wearing a “cup”. (In contrast, a full erection in a cock cage can be quite intense (not painful) for a guy not used to the sensation. I had to build-up to it over a period of time. And once I did, those erections still feel quite intense, much more so than an “ordinary” erection!)
Conclusion
So, there you have it! I am not endorsing one or the other means of male chastity. I just wanted to point-out some differences between the two methods for semen retention by a male. The choice ultimately is yours!
