Total beginner

Hi all,

I’m a straight male (if that matters) and am considering purchasing an aneros helix syn. I’m a total beginner and have never used a butt plug of any sorts before.

The idea of using an aneros with erotic audio excites me very much.

However I’m a bit nervous/worried about any possible injuries or the Aneros getting stuck!

Are these pretty safe to use?

  1. Don’t worry. If you’re using a toy actually meant for your butt you don’t have much to worry about. Lube, weed if you can, and relax. I bought a lube launcher off Amazon to help clean out before hand.

  2. The Helix Syn is fairly small, you won’t have any problem inserting it and will barely notice the the part that rests at the sphincter as it is quite small. The syn silicone is more comfortable than the plastic as movement=rubbing. Finding the right lube for you will greatly increase comfort by reducing the friction. I recommend J-lube but you could use an oil based lube (coconut oil or crisco) but not a silicone based one.

I strongly recommend buying a reusable enema bulb and giving yourself a water enema 2-3 times before playing. If you increase your fiber intake (either by diet or fiber supplement), you’ll learn when your rectum is empty and you don’t need to use an enema. Don’t use a lot of water or it will pass through your sigmoid sphincter into your colon. If that happens you won’t be able to expel the water in your colon at will. Your body will empty it into your rectum on its own accord which will take some time, delaying your play time.

When it comes time to play, I recommend mindgasm.net exercises for beginners. It is best with a headset you put your phone in and make your videos SBS using a free video editing software. Use Bluetooth earbuds and pop the headset on.

Keep in mind that your prostate swells after you have been aroused for some time. Either masturbate for a while before inserting (don’t ejaculate) or just be patient and set aside at least 30 minutes with your aneros. Exercising your PC muscles will greatly help you control the toy.

Anything thing to remember is that your prostate probably won’t feel like a magic button that is immensely pleasurable as soon as you hit it. You may not even notice you are hitting it when you first start. It is a learning process; think of it as a journey.

Final note: The Helix Syn may be small, but it can definitely get the job done. Don’t be afraid to try different models, but also don’t think it is too small to use. It is excellent for beginners.

  3. Use lube but don’t use a silicone based lube with the syn model. Also the one you got is probably the best for you . Pretty small and not hard so it should be the least uncomfortable. It will take time to feel anything so don’t worry if you feel like it’s not working

  4. You have picked the right beginner massager. It is professionally designed and will not get stuck. As a beginner, you may experience a bit of difficulty upon first insertion. I did when I first tried my Aneros as a beginner with butt massage.

Lube is key, not only on the device, but injecting a little inside is helpful. There are small applicators for one time lube injection available. I’ve seen them in the bins at the counter of adult stores.

But I recommend taking a warm shower and washing yourself a little first. It will help you relax. While your in there without soap, you might put a little lube on your finger and insert your finger in slowly with a dollop of lube on the tip. Slowly rotate and ease it in while trying to relax. It will get you feeling more comfortable with the feeling and also give you an idea of the angle of insertion. You could also lube up the Aneros while your in the shower and insert it in there too. You can then leave it in and dry off and take your towel and climb into your bed to do the muscle exercises while lying on your side. Like most people have said, don’t expect anything your first time. You might just want to lie there and get used to something inserted for a while. I don’t think I would do more than an hour, maybe 3/4 hour is enough for your first time.

I think that would be a good way to start your first experience. Read the beginner post on the right under helpful links.

  5. It’s incredibly safe: there’s nothing to worry about. At first it might feel a bit strange but after a while you’ll be completely used to it and it won’t feel weird or gross or anything except… great!
