Erectile Dysfunction After Aneros Use

It’s been close to a year since I stopped using Aneros, but then I Iearned to achieve aless, and kept up that for a few months more. After some time of using Aneros, I started having issues getting a regular erection…whether from masturbation or sex. Like, even when I’d finish a session jerking off, I’d just be pulling on my limp-ish dick till I came. My dick stopped responding in the bedroom, and it was a really hard time for the wife and me. I tried to find folks with similar stories, and it seems this was a pretty rare side effect. I did read one guy’s journey where he had to stop cold turkey and essentially force himself to jerk off every day until things got back to normal for him.

Talked to the doctor about it, who prescribed me Viagra to “get things kick started again.” It helped in the bedroom, and really boosted my confidence. The first time I realized we could have regular sex without the drugs, I deluded myself into thinking I could dabble with prostate play again. I would aless, often, mostly on the toilet. I mean, I guess it was aless, but seems different than how other folks describe their experience. I would position the bidet right at my asshole and start squeezing the area in my lower abdomen right between my dick and belly button. The first releases would cause spasms that forced out the contents of my bowels and bladder. Such a sweet release. As I kept it up, further contractions would cause my dick to get half hard, and start leaking precum. I’d be squeezing and shaking like crazy, sometimes forcing out ejaculate. Being scared of losing my erectile performance again, I’d be sure to end these sessions by jerking off, using my cum or precum as lube.

Writing this out is getting me pretty turned on, not gonna lie. But alas, I’m not going to go down this rabbit hole again. Because even with a traditional orgasm at the end, these sessions led to a similar outcome…I couldn’t get hard when I wanted to anymore. I was relying on Viagra again for sex and even then sometimes not performing. I haven’t tried aless again in months, and I am scared to ever try again.

While I sometimes still have difficulties in the bedroom, I’ve gotten to a place where I’m performing more regularly than not. Sometimes I still preemptively take viagra if I know I need to perform and am feeling anxious about it (we’re trying to conceive, and I can really get into my own head during the “fertile window”).

Today has been a beautiful lazy Saturday. My wife and I have fucked twice already, and my little guy didn’t need any special coaxing. Joyful, carefree, easy sex.

Anyhow, I am hopeful I’ve reached a new (old) chapter in my sexual journey. Aneros and aless was so much fun. Like agonizingly pleasurable, and way too addictive. I don’t know why it gave me the side effects it did, but I’m glad I was able to mostly get past them. I wanted to share my story in case there are any men out there who have experienced or are experiencing the same thing.

Thanks for reading my story. Much love to you all. I know that’s a weird thing to say to a bunch of strangers, but I can’t help but feel the love and support that the members of this community have for each other. Everyone’s on their journey, learning, sharing, and celebrating themselves and those around them. May you all continue to enjoy the ride.

  2. If you haven’t tried, I would recommend trying to learn NEOs with traditional masterbation. Dry orgasms that are repeatable and once you learn them you decide whether to ejaculate or not. Mine are dry but I save my ejaculations or wet orgasms for my wife.

  3. It happened to me once, where my wife decided to jump me just after I’d douched for play later. I couldn’t get a hard on. Before that it’d never bothered me that much.

I think it was more related to something with the douching/cleaning than anal play…
    Not sure.

  4. I had a similar experience after getting covid. I have had it twice and both times were abnormal from what others have experienced. First time was vertigo, shortness of breath. Was diagnosed with inner ear disease. Turns out it was just covid. But I couldnt get an erection to save my life. Was prescribed the little blue pill which did help. But after a while it all came back it no longer needed it to get an erection. Weird times. So just throwing that out there for what its worth.

  5. There os another subreddit called angionmethod that could shed some light on this issue. It had plagued me as well.

When someone has a hypertonic pelvic floor it can compromise erection quality and kegels make it worse as it adds more tension.

This could lead to a state of low quality erection and another condition called hard flaccid.

The remedy is discussed in the AM subreddit and doing the Angion method restored my EQ.

So holding the aneros in chronic tension may have a negative effect to us sexually. Something to consider. 🤔

  6. I’m sorry you can’t have both in your life. Maybe you could go through periods of one followed by periods of the other?

What about other types of non-ejaculatory orgasms not related the prostate? Did you do those and do you think that effected your erectile capacities?

Like another commenter said, sometimes after a session I can’t easily get an erection, but it is rare and I think it would have been a day with erectile troubles to begin with, exacerbated by aneros, and I don’t care because I’ve already had a lot of orgasms by that point. Overall though, like most men, prostate play has had me harder than I’ve ever been in my life.

  7. Does your wife know about your prostate play? Maybe it’s a psychological thing if she doesn’t know and you feel somehow guilty. I know that’s an issue for me

  8. May be you hurt a nerve for using your aneros too much.
When I used mine for the first time. I had the same issue.
I could get hard for afew days and also my O hurt me.
It was the first time putting something ever in my life up my O.
I have tried it again but this time slower

  9. I have never used the Aneros but I enjoy prostate play. I have never had a super O but I have had dry and wet orgasms from prostate play. One thing I have noticed is that if I “train” my body with prostate play, when I get horny my prostate swells up and not my penis. I am not a doctor but I feel like I would have to go to my teenage years to be able to pump enough blood to swell my prostate and my penis.

I am able to switch back to penis play though after a couple times of masturbation. I wonder if you just didn’t train your body back to penis arousal. I would love to hear from other here about this as well.

  10. Devil’s advocate here:
Have you stepped back to look at the big picture? How old are you? Overall health? Possible NO issues?

    Leave no stone unturned.

  11. Maybe reverse kegels could get your erections back? Sounds like you over trained your muscles, which can definitely hinder erections.

  12. I never had issues with ED (aside from while being sick with Covid) but mindgasm/a-less did cause some gnarly PE for me for a bit this year.

I believe it was two main factors: doing too much with my PC muscles which made them way too tight and overly responsive during sex, and also ejaculating less frequently.

To combat this, I stopped all prostate practices, and used a Tenga Flex (any toy should work) to get in the habit of lasting longer. After a few weeks of this, all PE issues have mostly subsided. I also believe that stopping kegels, and doing more yoga, helped with this.

Now, I look at prostate play as more of a treat once in a while, and not a frequent practice.

I know this isn’t exactly what your story is about, but I think these types of threads are very important. P-play can be an amazing thing, but it’s also worth learning about potential downsides and how to minimize them.

Likely, less frequency, less intensity at times, and also maintaining normal masturbation/sex habits can help prevent unwanted effects.
