Why all the hate for syn and love for plastic?

I recently responded to another user that was chastised for buying a syn model, and it got me thinking. I’ve never understood the anti-syn contingent. I realize that ostensibly the plastic allows more movement, but I’ve never found that to be true. What I really don’t understand is how anyone can find the plastic models comfortable. What am I missing, and is anyone else perplexed?

  2. I don’t have anything against Syn models I just think that the plastic models are better for beginners. They provide firmer stimulation. The lack of give in the material creates more of a sense of instant feedback in relation to what your muscles are doing. I started of with the original Helix Syn about 9 years ago. Moving on to the plastic models helped me build the connection with my prostate better than the Syn did.

  3. Personally I feel more from the plastic than I do the syn, the syn also limits the type of lube you can use. My sessions can go for 3 or 4 hours, using water based with the syn leads to the lube drying out during the session. When I use the plastic with silicone lube I don’t have that issue. I prefer the syn if I’m sitting as the added flexibility makes it more comfortable but if I’m in bed or walking, I don’t notice a difference in comfort.

  4. I much prefer using silicone lube due to it lasting a hell of a lot longer which is why I’m not a massive fan.

I do use my Helix Syn from time to time and enjoy it but I’d use it a lot more if I had a way of making the lube last longer

  5. I have the Helix Syn but was looking at the plastic Progasm yesterday. So much larger and I’d think it would feel better. I really like the syn but I can’t get more than the occasional involuntary twitch. But it does get me in the mood for my larger toys. A little disappointing with the syn. Only had it a couple months. But I’m not in my 20s anymore so that could be part of the issues.

  6. I am a syn preferrer. I tried the plastic models but the tabs are extremely uncomfortable and left bruising

  7. Having three models in both, the plastic feels better, creates more pleasure, and while i can easily insert any, in the beginning, the plastic was easier for me to insert

  8. I like the syn models but the plastic one’s move much better. The sun tend to need to be re-lubed more often and I just don’t find them to move quite as easy. I like the slick sliding feeling that they have compared to a slightly more sluggish response from the syn. I have tried loads of different lubes with both variations. For me personally that is why I prefer the plastic vs the syn.

  9. The uncomfortable tabs on the white plastic models is the reason I prefer the syn versions…

  10. I don’t believe much I read online, especially reviews of any kind. Syn models, mostly due to their greatly increased flexibility, resulting in increased “stroking” movement, are far superior to the hard plastic models that clamp in and barely move. The plastic models are still fun, but the Syn models represent a next step in evolution of the product line. And we need a Peridise Syn!

  11. syn smells even after cleaning multiple times with soap.

u’ve to use water based lubes which dry faster.

plastic one doesn’t smell after cleaning with soap and works with silocon lube more easily.
