“Which Comes First: The Arousal Or The Erection?”

Introduction
I have noticed lately that when I am wearing a “chastity cup” to bed at night, there is a certain period of time that I can experience and feel just prior to an erection. This is almost always un-stoppable. It is automatic and within a very short time, I feel my cock awakening and coming to life! I can feel it growing and throbbing into the cup. And voila’, I have my erection! At the same time, I feel a sudden surge of horniness. Is this normal? Let me explore it futher…

Analysis
The sexual response cycle in males and females follows a known, defined sequence: Excitement, Plateau, Orgasm and Resolution. But there are no clear-cut “lines” or demarcations between each phase. Most of what I experience occurs during the Excitement and Plateau stages. Since I usually practice semen retention (SR), the Orgasm and Resolution stages are rather infrequent now. Thus, the Excitement and Plateau stages remain. And the Plateau stage (for me) has to be limited, since if I remain in the Plateau stage for too long, I will develop and experience the dreaded “blue-balls”. So my personal “arousal” now consists primarily of the Excitement stage.

Arousal
Most of the time now, my arousal occurs during the night when the nocturnal erections occur on a regular basis. As I said in the beginning, sometimes I can feel when this occurs. Other times, I am awakened by the erection. Either way, when the erection occurs, it usually lasts a while.

There are instances where I have just been dreaming and just wake up. I know that REM sleep seems to be the “trigger” for the night erections so when I know I have been dreaming and wake-up flaccid, it usually isn’t too long before I feel the erection starting-up. That is a great feeling!

Conclusion
The “how” and “why” of erections are fairly well-defined. What isn’t is the “when”. IMHO, there is a mystery still surrounding the Excitement phase of the male sexual response cycle. It can be triggered by many things, some known and some unknown. But regardless of cause, it is the effect that we males desire! Touche’.

PS I can’t help but think that there is a comparable sexual response cycle related to the prostate (and Aneros usage). I feel that during my sessions, I can progress through these same four “stages”: Excitement, Plateau, Orgasm and Resolution. “Excitement” builds through various channels in anticipation of an Aneros session. “Plateau” occurs during the actual session itself. “Orgasm” usually does not result in an ejaculation, only a prostate orgasm (perhaps better?) And the “Resolution” phase for me seems to exist in that lately, I do not experience an erection (or any arousal) following an Aneros session for at least two or three hours. Intriguing…..
