Which Aneros model is closest to the Helix Syn in your opinion?

I’m not completely giving up hope but I cannot for the life of me find my Aneros Helix Syn. As payday approaches I was looking at possibly replacing, but seems that model is no longer being sold anywhere.

Problem is I’ve got a few others, but I’m struggling with keeping those in my ass, and as soon as I start to feel them coming out, that pretty much the entire session tanked. No joy with my Helix Syn V (the vibrating one, though I typically use without turning on) or my old white plastic model (had for so long I couldn’t tell you what it is, maybe an MGX), and I have a Progasm ice but I’ve never been able to keep that in.

Part of the problem is most of my success has come from the Syn, and it’s really the only one that works for me on my back; I’ve had a little joy with the Syn V on my side, but I’m trying to do Mindgasm and am having more success there on my back.

So what are people’s experiences with toys similar in profile to the Aneros Helix Syn? Helix Syn Trident seems visually the closest, but I’m hesitant to make a purchase right now if it cannot be the golden model (at least in my own experience).

TIA

Discord

Bit of a laggard for all things tech, but I’ve been dragged kicking and screaming onto Discord for something else and remembered seeing posts talking about an Aneros discord group. The only links I can find are expired, is anyone able to point me to a stable link? Or willing to share an invite?

Question about a-less orgasms

I’ll write more about my session below, but in case of TL;DR I’ll get to the point: I get that having an Aneros device inserted leads to prostate stimulation (physical stim), but what drives A-less orgasm/stimulation?

————

So like a lot of people, I saw the pandemic lockdown as a chance to make some progress on my journey. I’ve had a handful of good sessions over the past two years, 2 I suspect reached super-O levels; but overall it’s been pretty inconsistent. There’s also a lot of other barriers (roommate; mental health struggles causing me to struggle to clear my mind; find it hard to have a good session without weed and my supply dried up for a while), and to top things off I ended up with a case of gastro.

Yesterday was the first day I was feeling over the gastro, enough that my entire body didn’t feel out of whack, but not *so* over it that I thought douching and playing with the toy would be a good idea, even though I’ve really been craving a session for a while.

By late night, after I’d chilled out and blazed up, I was feeling kinda horny but wasn’t hard, so decided I’d get comfy, put on a tried-and-true porn film, and started working on kegels, not expecting much. However, it ended up being epic, even though it was completely a-less. I don’t think it was quite as pleasurable as past sessions – I would describe it as overall pleasurable, but muted – and I wonder if that’s because there was no toy. That got me wondering exactly what happens when someone has an a-less session, like what is the cause of pleasure without a toy.

Pre-gaming goes super

So I’m currently sat fownstairs, home alone chilling out and beginning to tense my prostate before heading, I intended, to bed to live up, insert my Helix Syn and hope to have a great session. Had one great super-o experience, everything since has been either disappointing or, like, knocking on the door and peeking in but not actually getting there, which has been ok and not-nothing, but naturally a little disappointing.

Anyway, not sure what’s different tonight, except for I’m high on an edible after a quiet week weed-wise, and have gotten myself markedly more aroused through simply browsing forums and tensing lightly. But I kept going, and to my complete surprise was able to (without having decided I was going to try) bring myself to (what I currently believe to be a) super-o. Started with a light sensation which I could quite tell if it was a p-wave, though persistence confirmed it and I kept going. One full, and a second at least mini-O, all without any external anal stimulation whatsoever and no device. So that’s a milestone I wasn’t expecting for a while out of no where.

Anyway, the question occurred to me – and I love that this community is interactive when I ask those questions that just pique my interest – what do people do in that case? Do people have preferences for just maintaining that session without moving and getting the massager; or do you rather level up to toy?

Pre-session rituals?

So I’ve been working on my technique since my first super-o a few weeks ago, and in preparation for a session tonight I’ve been tensing my prostate on and off all day.

Anyway, this got me thinking about what other people might do ahead of sessions. Obv there’s the obvious/the things in the Wiki (cleaning, relaxing, being aroused etc.) but do others have other rituals or go-to prep activities?

This isn’t a help-me-with-my-technique type of post, it was just something that occurred to me and in curious. And this sub/community has always been welcoming of questions and forthcoming with comments, so figured I’d ask.

Morning after the night befOre

So yesterday was a cool day. I posted in a state of frustration about a lack of progress and received some encouragement and advice. Fast forward a couple hours and I finally cracked it, and had a number of super-O’s. Fucking incredible!!!

Today I’ve been off-the-chain horny. Crazy horny compared to normal. Woke up at 6am and had to jerk a little to settle back to sleep; I edged 3 times this morning/early afternoon, which I thought had calmed me down, but an hour or two later and I’m back to square one. A fantastic outcome, don’t get me wrong, but is this normal? Either generally, or at least early on?

Was planning to rest today and try again tomorrow, per suggestions online, but at this rate I don’t see me resisting tonight…

Getting frustrated

I’ve had my Helix Syn for about 2 months now, and whilst I’ve not hat anything mindblowing yet, my early sessions seemed quite promising. Definitely experienced P-waves, and a few times caused some trembling sensations in my extremities (mostly arms/hands).

But it seemed to regress after the first couple weeks. I think a lot of it is mental – I feel like if nothing significant (I.e. Light P-wave) happens in the first 20-30 mins, I get frustrated and *that* seems to be the nail in the coffin. And no amount of relaxation beforehand seems to get around this. I’m a little annoyed in all honesty that I am not moving forwards at all, but the feeing of stepping backwards is such a mood killer.

Have people experienced this kind of stall, and what did you do to navigate it. I know that it will take time and there’s no magic solution, but tips for managing expectations would be really appreciated. It’s clear I’m getting in my own way, but I don’t know how to effectively combat that.

Also, when learning the technique, I’m a little lost on how active I should be. On the one hand I’ve been told to relax completely, let the toy drive. On the other, people say tensing the prostate is key. One thing that has gone right is that I feel a lot more able to work my prostrate when I have nothing inserted – kegals were never something I really got in to before, but I really have gotten good at them I think – but not so much with the Helix inserted. It’s like I can isolate the prostate without it in, but when it’s inserted it’s much much harder to isolate the prostate. I end up clenching my butt/sphincter too, which seems to kill any growing P-waves. What are you doing?

Is this part of “the journey”

Second time user. I bought an Aneros years ago (can’t remember model) and what I know now is that I was both misunderstanding what to do and being impatient. Ditched it and never thought about it again til about a year ago.

Bought a Helix Syn about a month ago, and hand a handful of sessions. From the off, things were different. Don’t know if it’s a better body-model fit for me, a better understanding of what to do to maneuver the thing, or a little of both, but it’s definitely doing something. Regularly have p-waves, and have had I think 2 smallish orgasms, though nothing approaching a super -O I don’t think.

But for the most part, I feel like I’m struggling to make progress. Im still finding the sessions a little frustrating, because whilst I definitely can distinguish the prostate from other muscles down there, I’m having trouble keeping it contracted. I fee like I get up to 10 seconds and 2/3 of the time my sphincter contracts significantly, which knocks out the prostate contact. And I can’t seem to release the sphincter only, so I have to fully relax and start again. And after a couple times of this, I normally bail on the session out of frustration.

That said, in the last 48 hours especially I’ve noticed more sensitivity to my prostate without any direct stimulation (by me or a toy). I can contract it on and off for a minute or two, and it’s not orgasmic but it is pleasurable. And I don’t think I’d ever been able to distinguish my prostate from the overall piss-stopping clenching of a few muscles.

First time advice (syn)

TL;DR version: I’ve read all the advice online, but if you were to say one thing (technique/tip/FYI) that really made the difference with your Aneros toy, what would it be? (Figure if everyone’s a little different, there might be some variety!)

Background: I’ve had another Aneros model in the past (can’t remember which, just the normal white model) which didn’t do much for me at the time, but I was honesty a bit conscious about butt-play at the time so didn’t really go for it.

After months of thinking about it, finally ordered a Syn and it arrived today. Looking forward to my first session. I’ve done a bunch more reading this time around so feel more prepared for the journey (so won’t get discouraged when it’s 10 mins in and I’m not cumming my brains out!)
