Hi all!
About a year ago, my girlfriend and I wanted to explore prostate stimulation. So she bought me some forward-curved buttplugs (FunFactory), and I bought myself a Lelo Hugo during a sale. So I’ve had some experience with prostate stimulation (wasn’t seeking the super-O – I only thought of it as a way to enhance sex).
A couple months ago, I learned about Mindgasm and the super-O, and decided to dedicate time to it. I have some experience with meditation and I’ve done strength training for years, so muscle isolation and “mind / body” connection come pretty naturally to me. I started with no toy, just Mindgasm. I started having pleasure waves, which was very nice, and I began to feel very attuned with my body and my sexuality. This was honestly a very “spiritual” few weeks for me. I felt very “grounded.”
Then I bought a Helix Syn. I had some nice sessions with it, and it did help me learn my pelvic floor in a new way. But I wasn’t getting that “oomph”/”hit the spot” feeling that I remembered from my first toys. Just some nice waves – but I could feel an itch for something with more “reach” or more forward curve. So I bought the Eupho Trident (no Syn). This one was better, for sure – the longer reach absolutely hits me in a good place, which the Helix Syn does not. But it’s still frustrating – the sensations are so light and subtle, it’s hard to get that “satisfying” feeling.
Today, I was mid-session with the Eupho, and I thought…why not try the Lelo Hugo after everything I’ve learned and the sensitivity I’ve built? So I inserted it, started doing some delicate exploratory movements with PC/sphincter, and *holy shit*, I almost came. Vision went to black, breathing became heavy…but it backed off. It didn’t quite “tip over.” No sweat, I’m still new at this – I figure it’ll happen when it’s meant to happen.
Now I have a dilemma. I started thinking, maybe I should be using a more aggressive toy like the Hugo, but one that’s actually designed to move with the pelvic floor and not vibrate on its own. So I considered buying the Progasm. I don’t want to get frustrated because I’m using the wrong tools for my body.
On the other hand, I don’t want to constantly be chasing the next toy. I know that no toy will be *perfect* – even the Lelo Hugo kinda slips out because its “pincer grip” is too tight. And I also don’t want my outward search for the *right toy* to drown out the inward exploration of my body.
So r/aneros – how many of you switched toys and branched out on your path to the super-O? Looking back, do you wish you’d stuck with just one? Or did each toy add something?
Thanks guys!

I have about a dozen toys which are all a little different. My first super O actually came from my fuck machine with my favorite dildo attached to it. After I could do that reliably I bought a program, but didn’t have any luck at first. I bought a toy similar to the Hugo and that gave me my first super O not using my machine. Shortly after that I was able to get one with my Progasm. I have my favorite toys but they’re all a little different and on any given session I use multiple and just go with what feels good.
If it was about hitting a spot then it wouldn’t be so elusive and people wouldn’t be talking about “magic” and whatnot. I switched to no toys.
I use multiple toys in almost every session. My go to is my classic MGX Trident, but I will switch between it and the Eupho, Progasm, nJoy wand, nJoy pFun, and my trusty 8” dildo as the session progresses. More superOs with the MGX than any of the others. I have a Hugo and a Vice II, but have found that vibes just desensitize my prostate, so I don’t use them much.
I’ve used a handful of different toys, and a handful of aneros models. I prefer the aneros models overall, but every new toy certainly seemed to help progress. I feel like the mental openness & excitement of trying something new and not knowing what to expect helps with the mindset.
