Dark spots on new Aneros Helix Trident?

I have an Aneros Progasm Ice already, and ordered a new Aneros Helix from Lovehoney UK and it arrived today.

On opening it I noticed that there were a number of tiny dark spots on the toy which are ever so minisculely raised (can feel with a finger, but would not be measurable).

Also the texture appearance was not purely smooth white like I was expecting, there’s slightly zebra-ish pattern between matte and shinier white when looking at it in light/flash.

I had a look around and came across this post from yesterday – and my Helix came in exactly the same box:

I don’t think my product is counterfeit though, because scanning the “Transparency” sticker on the box tells me it was “Produced in China on the 3rd July 2020”

I have tried cleaning the toy and can confirm the tiny dark spots are part of the material itself and do not come off.

Could someone please let me know if their Aneros Helix is the same? I’m not sure whether to return it for safety, or if this is the normal appearance.

It’s hard to take a picture of it and keep focus, but I’ve attached an image to the post.

Thanks for taking the time to help out/read 🙂

  1. I have a Helix Trident. I bought it about a year and a half ago and it was pure white when I first bought it. There were no marks on it and there wasn’t any zebra pattern. You might want to consider contacting Aneros or the retailer where you bought it.

  2. During the injection molding process, if the plastic bits are left in the machine too long sometimes they get charred and mix with the pure plastic. The black dots are char. It means the modeling machine needs the settings adjusted or molding parameters changed.
