How do you guys take care of your anus?

During Christmas break I was using the bathroom like 6 to 8 times a day because every 30 mins I would have an intense burning around my anus. I’m sure it was raw from wiping a lot to the point I would just rinse off in the shower.

I want to get some sessions in but it can be painful and make things worse. I started putting some balmex (zinc oxide) on my anus along with some tp and the irritation has went down over the last couple of days.

Does anybody have any advice on better care for your anus and irritation? Creams that you use? Lube techniques/types to reduce friction? This has been kind of an on going issue for me. It gets better but this last time was like pooping fire.

Diet was shit this month so I’m going to change that to veggies and protein diet with a fiber supplement. Hopefully that will help. But any extra advice would be great.

  1. Try using Shea butter and coconut oil for your lube. Works well with the toys and is great moisturizer.

  2. Eating more veggies and adding a fiber supplement is going to be a big help. That sounds like where a lot of the irritation is coming.

    The kind of lube you use also matters a good bit. When I was first getting into prostate play I just used the cheap ass Astroglide from the grocery store or KY of some sort. Thinking that these are well known brands, they must be at least tolerable. And I was wrong lol. It set my hole on fire and left me irritated for quite awhile after play. I found that it was the high osmolality in these lubes that was causing the irritation. Lubes found at the grocery store and even a large majority of the brands at your local sex shop are well above the safe range. The brands that have worked for me are still a bit outside the safe range, but I never had any bad reaction from them, even with extended use. Those brands were Gun Oil H2O and Pjur Backdoor water based. I’ve since switched to Xlube for the price and long lasting lube. It also is much lower than the osmolality of the lubes I was using and I’ve had no issues in the 5 months I’ve been using it.

    With all this lube talk, here’s your reminder to use lube shooters if you aren’t already.

    Some other things that may help with general hole care would be not spending more time on the commode than you need. Stop reading a book or watching something on your phone. Doing this helped me resolve an ongoing hemorrhoid I had.

    If I want to play, a bit of irritation isn’t enough to keep me from playing usually. I avoid dildos or anything that thrusts for obvious reasons. But getting an Aneros in doesn’t cause much issue.

    They’re relatively cheap on Amazon.
    No More Wiping!!!
    At most use a few TP squares to gently pat yourself dry.
    Nothing’s better than that “outta the shower” feeling after every home toilet visit!

  4. No need for a bidet. Quick fix: use a bottle you fill with water of your temperature choice.

    Don’t eat spicy food before toy days.

    Eat healthy. Avoid alcohol and overly greasy food.

    If you still have problems see a doc because pooping 8 times a day isn’t normal.

  5. I’m sorry and don’t want to be a downer, but you might think about seeing a doctor about possible Irritable Bowel Disease. If it feels like it’s “on the inside” and you all of a sudden feel like you really have to get to the bathroom, those are indicators of internal inflammation. So is “pooping fire”. 6-8 times a day is not normal. Source: I have Ulcerative Colitis and poop fire every day.

    Fiber: Take 1 tbsp Psyllium Seed Husk with a **full glass of water** daily. Or 2x a day. Don’t skip the water, it expands and needs sufficient water to absorb it.

    Lube: 3/4 part Shea Butter, 1/4 part coconut oil. Heat on low heat until melted, cool in refrigerator.

    But forget about that, you should stop with the Aneros and see a doctor.

  6. Treat your anus like any other body part, or like your lips. If you rub your lips 6-8 a day with something dry like TP they’re clearly not gonna be very happy lips.

    Shit before you shower. Gross but honestly it’s a level up. This also ties directly into other behaviors and habits (to do this you need to make yourself regular bowel wise!).

    I use Vaseline very often for any toy play or recovery for my hole if I get a tear or something. It’s very good for locking stuff in, I find if I use a proper moisturizer like Cerave it can cause acne. It sounds wild but…I actually moisturize my hole regularly in this way in the morning, I find I can be really sensitive to chafing or irritation from just walking, probably due to better awareness down there.

    Imo Vaseline is the best for ease of use play and comfort but J-lube or X-Lube is the “seeing color for the first time” tier of lubes, it’s so comfortable that it changed my opinion of my ability to bottom (for the better). Things just pop right in. This is likely why you see a lot of bigger toy users or fisters use j-lube and the varieties. But with J-lube you have to mix it and I find it can be very inconvenient to use due to prep.

    Been taking psyllium husk for years, went from metamucil to an organic non-sugared brand of whole husk. Initially took it for bottoming but I swear to got it lowered my blood pressure when I first started taking it. Can be a pain in the neck habit wise but through the years I’ve noticed I almost always regret not being regular with the fiber supplement, like literally always cursing myself from the past for not taking those easy 5 minutes to do it.
