I’ve been using Aneros for about 6 years, but it wasn’t until two years ago that I finally got the hang of it.

WHAT IT FEELS LIKE:

The amount of pleasure it gives is insane. It’s completely outside the realm of normal experiences. It’s hard to quantify. It feels like it’s always increasing. It’s like my brain has a “current pleasure” and a “change in pleasure” readout, and both of them are maxed out.
If I try to remember how good it was, it’s like it doesn’t fit in memory. It’s like I have to take my past self’s word for it. And then, the next time I do it, I’m like, “Holy shit, that’s right! I had forgotten how good this was! Holy crap, this is amazing!”
When it first starts, it feels like a very weak inkling of an orgasm-like sensation. It has those deeply-satisfying, spine-tingling, heart-fluttering qualities, but not nearly as intense. Maybe on par with a good back massage. But then… it gets better… and better… and better… and it just doesn’t stop getting better. Ever. It doesn’t make sense. It feels like an illusion, like the motion aftereffect, or the [Shepard Tone](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BzNzgsAE4F0). Soon you lose track. It’s like watching one of those [scale of the universe](https://youtu.be/17jymDn0W6U?t=103) videos. You can maintain your bearings for a little while, but pretty soon, you’ve zoomed out so many times that you’ve lost all frame of reference. The pleasure might be 10x better than an orgasm, or 100x, who knows, it’s hard to say.
Sometimes my dick will twitch and I’ll feel like a ton of precum is oozing out. If I look later, I usually find a few big drops – certainly not as much as it felt like, but definitely more than usual. Sometimes I’ll get distracted and impatient, so I’ll take a break and come back to it a few minutes later. Sometimes I look at porn (pictures, video, or audio), sometimes I listen to music, sometimes both, sometimes nothing. I try to go with the flow.
Eventually, after an hour or two, when I’m ready to finish, I’ll add penile stimulation (vibrator or hand). I build up slowly, edge myself, and give myself just barely enough to slowly teeter over the edge, like a roller coaster that’s in danger of not making it over a hill, and holy fuck it feels incredible. The limitless pleasure I thought I had been feeling earlier is completely and utterly exceeded. Every part of the orgasm is way stronger and dragged out way longer than usual. It’s aggressively overwhelming. Afterwards, I’ll be floating around on a cloud for a few hours. I can usually go for two rounds. I can tell my pelvic muscles are extremely fatigued, but it’s not painful. If I try again a day or two later, though, that can be painful. So I always wait at least a week to let the muscles recover.

HOW I GOT THERE:

From what I can tell, the mechanism of action has less to do with prostate pressure, and more to do with the exhaustion of very specific muscles. In the right mood, I can get nearly as good of sensations without using any toy at all, just by flexing my muscles in the right way. Prostate stimulation does feel good as a side bonus, though, and I think it provides useful feedback when learning the muscle movements. More on this later.
This may be a bit of a bummer to some of you, but it only works for me when I take THC. 5-10 mg of edibles is enough for me, then I wait > 90 mins for full effect. I’ve tried without, and I can do the muscle movements fine, but my ability to focus on the sensations isn’t good enough to get the chain reaction going. I have a very active mind. Meditating is difficult for me. When I take edibles, though, it’s like the past and the future fade away, and the present moment becomes my whole reality. Movies, food, taking a shower, going to the bathroom – any activity, whatever it is, becomes an intense, all-consuming experience. I notice way more details about everything. My mind latches onto things for longer. Apply this to Aneros, and you can see why it helps. I can feel what’s happening in extreme detail, and focusing on it becomes effortless. I’m sure it’s possible to achieve super-O without THC, but for someone like me, I would probably have to study meditation for years to learn the yogic-level of focused relaxation required to make it work.
Before I ever heard of Aneros, I had some experience with anal. I knew what prostate stimulation felt like, and I enjoyed it, but I didn’t do it very often because of hemorrhoids. (FYI those have been better in recent years – fiber and hydration, folks!) I had also previously experienced with “coregasms” from climbing poles. Coregasms feel exactly like regular orgasms, but are generated by core/back/thigh muscle exhaustion, and don’t require any penile stimulation (or even an erection). Overall, I find them less enjoyable than a regular orgasm, other than for novelty. Definitely not the same as a super-O.
When I first got an Aneros (Helix Syn), I assumed that prostate stimulation was the main mechanism of action. I mean, that’s what it says on the website and in the instructions, right? I put it in, and immediately felt it pressing against my prostate. Cool. So far so good. I tried contracting muscles to move it around, and with some practice, I could get it to rhythmically tap on my prostate. But it took conscious effort to do so, and it would become increasingly difficult as my muscles got tired. Eventually, I’d be stiff as a board, willing my muscles to keep going, but failing. I’d get frustrated. I tried holding the external end of it to add more prostate pressure, which usually felt good temporarily, but didn’t really change things.
Then I did some internet research. There seemed to be two general classes of techniques: the “do nothing” method, and the [base/center](https://mindgasm.net/) method where you train yourself to individually control your anal sphincter and pubococcygeus muscles. The methods are seemingly contradictory. One advocates literally not doing anything, the other advocates hyperfocus on intentionally doing something. I also found a third technique, kind of a hybrid of the two, which focused on getting your pelvic floor muscles to spasm or flutter in a particular way that causes the Aneros to tap against your prostate. There are many different tricks and versions to this technique. “Doing nothing” was a dead end, at least initially. Later on, it would work like a charm, but only after I developed the requisite muscle memory. If “doing nothing” works for you, great. If not, don’t waste too much time on the mindfuck of trying-not-to-try, just try the other techniques.
The “base/center” method was probably helpful, but I never really mastered it. Base is easy, base + center is easy, but center without base still eludes me. It’s like trying to wiggle my ears – it just doesn’t work. But I didn’t end up needing that level of control anyway.
The “spasms” technique was the most useful. With some practice, I could get the spasms going reliably, often by doing base/center sorts of things. The problem was keeping them going. Similar to before, I would get progressively more tense and distracted. So, next, I tried getting the spasms going, then backing off and doing nothing. When I did this, sometimes the spasms would continue on their own for a little bit, without any conscious effort by me, and gradually slow down and come to a stop. This was the seed that would grow into the proper technique.
I spent 4 years trying all out the above. I tried a few different models, and decided I liked the long skinny Eupho Trident best. I felt like I had made progress, but definitely hadn’t reached a super-O. Then, I tried it with THC, and immediately had a breakthrough. When I relaxed and let the spasms go on their own, they would continue indefinitely! And then, when the muscles began to get tired, instead of me getting tense, the muscles would find a second wind and keep going anyway. They would get entirely, completely exhausted, but still keep going, and the “runner’s high” from those muscles was extremely pleasurable. I found it was easy to keep the spasms going if I dissociated myself from my pelvic floor muscles. I adopted the attitude that if they were spasming, that was fine, they can do what they want, not my problem. If they were tired, no big deal, not my responsibility, not under my control. Sometimes I would fantasize about someone/something magically making my muscles spasm against my will, or fantasize about my muscles/dick having a mind of their own, or the Aneros having a mind of its own. After a little more practice, I didn’t need to fantasize at all, just let go and observe. With the spasms on autopilot, it freed up my attention to relax and enjoy things.
During the next 2 years after that, I did a session every 1-2 weeks or so. Each session felt like it was a better than the last. The spasms have become stronger and slower and bigger, evolving into something more like stroking, than fluttering. It’s extremely easy to let them happen, and in fact sometimes they’ll start on their own… sometimes even without an Aneros. I’ll be sitting on the couch watching a movie, and then “oh fuck, it’s happening.” One time I woke up in the middle of the night with it. Sometimes they stop unexpectedly, too, but that’s ok. Just gotta let them do their thing. “Relaxing into it” often feels good, too. This is like how when you’re really aroused, and your dick is twitching, you can consciously relax your dick and stop the twitches, but eventually the urge to twitch becomes too strong and your dick twitches anyway. Ultimately, “doing nothing” was the correct strategy, but it only worked after I had made headway with the other techniques, and with the help of THC.
Despite the mind-blowing pleasure, I don’t actually know if I’ve technically gotten a super-O yet. People describe (and videos show) a violent, back-arching, leg-shaking, hip-thrusting seizure where they lose all control of themselves. I did have something like that happen last week, but it was when I was finishing myself off, which is kind of cheating. There are three possibilities, I think:
1. I have not yet had a super-O. When I get there, I will know.
2. I’ve totally been having super-O’s for a while now. I’m just really good at doubting myself.
3. The super-O is not an event, but a continuum of pleasure with no upper limit. You can never “get there.” It just gets better forever.
P.S. At one point, I wandered off onto a bit of a side quest with prostate orgasms. I found that with a little bit of penile stimulation and A LOT of prostate stimulation, I could get a “ruined” orgasm, where about a half-load of cum would drooble out without triggering a full-on orgasm or refractory period. And then, continuing onwards to a real orgasm shortly afterward would feel extra good. Kind of like getting a double orgasm. One time I got three, but two was usually tricky enough. Pretty cool, but not a super-O.

That was a great read and I reckon very well written and touches on a lot of the questions that pop up in this sub.. like ‘is it better’ ‘what’s it feel like’ ‘why isn’t this working’ etc…

I have a similar story to yours. Took many years and Cannabis to finally figure it all out. I can now give hope that it is entirely possible to get the same results without cannabis. I had one of the best sessions of my life last night without cannabis, first time for me not having it and still having an excellent session.
I agree on the Eupho also. What I figured out last night, and this may only work for me, I need at least an hour of tickling and teasing my prostate to get it Aroused and ready for the orgasms.
Another observation, I cannot name them all, but I have at least six to eight different types of pleasure (orgasm). I have definitely had a bunch of super orgasms. If you cannot say you have, you probably haven’t. All control is lost, flailing and screaming are involuntarily happening and At that moment I wouldn’t care who knows that it’s happening. This is very very similar to many things I encountered in the last year, though not in the same orders. Weed helped me progress through a lot of Mindgasm, and then I restarted without weed. It was like feeling through a maze without light and the weed lit up the maze so I could see. And then I have been off weed but continued to feel through the unlit maze knowing I had navigated through before. My prostate or gspot was super dull until I started this journey, and now I’m slowly developing it into activeness. I’m trying to respond to specific things lol. Under weed there is this feeling I had of becoming so in tune with particular muscles around the source that my perception of “how far” it felt in my body totally changes. A literal measurement might go ah yeah my prostate is some number of feet and inches away from whatever “I” am. But at sone point the whole thing warps and it’s like “I” get to zoom in and feel a stronger feeling. I was able to do that around yesterday or the day before without weed. Been trying to replicate that.
