Involuntaries – medical explanation?

Hi, everyone!

I sent a similar DM to u/butt_munky who gave me some great pointers, but also suggested that I make a general post.

I have been really struggling to figure out what the involuntaries are, as they seem to be crucial to making progress to good feelings with the Aneros. I have some medical training, so have been trying to figure out exactly what these are, to know if I have been getting them or if I need to redirect my training.

If, as some have suggested, I try to hold PC contractions at various levels of intensity, the muscle will eventually fatigue. This is just like trying to hold an arm curl with a dumbbell for a long period of time. The muscle will start to shake because it has run “out of gas,” going into something called “tetany.” It can be pretty exhausting (as with the dumbbell) to hold this level of contraction, and the muscle trembling is not particularly pleasurable. If I really concentrate, I can sometimes force my mind to think that this is pleasurable, maybe with an occasional very brief “zing” of what I assume might be the start of a P-wave. Most writers don’t seem to indicate that their sessions are exhausting.

A second type – Shortly after insertion, with deep breathing, relaxation and focus, I can get very gentle, subtle and slow contractions just inside the anus. They seem to be trying to gently bring the Aneros inward. These I would label as rectal muscle peristalsis. Completely involuntary, but not strong enough to generate much sensation. Also very easy to disrupt. If I am very careful, if I very gently flex PC and/or perineum (pull the Aneros “up”) I can keep the peristalsis going and increase the sensation somewhat. I can see potential here if I practice more.

A third type of involuntary seems to occur after having had the toy in for maybe 10-15 minutes. If I am deep breathing, I can perform a mild reverse Kegel which can set off something that feels a lot like the tetany (first type above), but without the effort of having to maintain a firm PC contraction until fatigue. This type is also very fast and fluttery. It seems like if I focus, I can, with varying success, move the flutters around a bit. I can either move them to the front of the perineum, where it feels more like PC fluttering, or to the back, where it pretty much seems like it’s the anal sphincter fluttering. With luck, I can sometimes move them right in between, near where the prostate should reside. Unfortunately, all of this still seems to take a fair degree of focus, making it hard to also seek out pleasurable sensations, so most sessions are just “meh.”

Are any of these involuntaries, or are they something completely different? For some reason, despite lots of looking, I have never really found a satisfactory explanation. If anybody has some insight as to what they are, it may help me and others have a better idea of how to achieve them. Thanks!!

  1. I have always thought they were caused by the simultaneous movements of opposite muscles.

But that is all I have to offer as an explanation.

  2. Hey bud!

Really glad you posted this 😉

As you know, I am no vet, but to me your second and third examples sound more like the involuntaries that I have experienced. As I said in our DM, at the start I was going at the kegels 100% until I fatigued them and this did make them tremble but that is definitely more like your first example of tetany.

TBH, I have absolutely no idea what causes the more pleasurable involuntaries. There clearly must be a medical explanation but go knows what the is…LOL.

For me, they came when I really began to understant kegels and breathing. I would find that after holding a kegel on inhalation for a spell, when I released and exhaled slowly my PC and rectal muscles would contract spontaneously. This would happen sometimes and then more frequently until it was pretty much everytime.

As we all know, the body gets used to and can anticipate certain reactions. Now, for me, I get involuntaries after about 5 minutes of focused breathing and nipple play. It’s like my body goes “ah, okay, it’s this again” and then starts contracting the kegels muscles because that’s what’s expected.

These obviously get more pleasurable and intense the further into a session I go. If I’m lucky and in the zone then I will PGasm. This doesn’t happen everytime though. As I have said repeatedly. I am still quite new at this and I am definitely not at the point where I can predictably get success (but I WILL get to that point, I have no doubt).

  3. the more u try to find out the explanation for it the less likely you will succeed. multiple orgasms is 90% energy and 10% physical. the more u think the less you feel and experience. when u are completely in the present moment, your mind is at peace, instead of thinking, it focuses 100% on sensations and feeling that you don’t usually aware that exist in your body. and from that state of mind, something opens up and that energy (whatever u wanna call, sensation, feelings, emotions) starts to flow throughout your body, and they cause involuntary contractions, that’s why they are involuntary. learning and trying to replicate the involuntary will not reverse its way to focus on your energy and lead you to orgasm. that’s why u can have all the involuntary yet there’s no orgasmic feelings and sensation because the energy part is missing. most people who succeed does this subconsciously, they may not be aware of the direct relationship/connection between the energy and involuntary, and after people reading their statements, they will try to replicate the involuntary which will not work for them at all. it’s like a disease that causes symptoms, but having the same symptoms doesn’t cause the same illness. the whole thing is also like meditation, meditation sometimes leads to multiple orgasms, and people who have multiple orgasms get into this deep meditative state. so think less and feel more.

  4. Why would you want to fatigue the PC muscles? Those that advise muscle fatigue offer an erroneous technique. By doing this you created too much tension in your pelvic floor. Relaxation controls the Aneros.

  5. Have you checked out mindgasm.net ?

This kind of gave me an explanation I needed to start progressing. After about 9 months of learning on my own and exercising the specific muscles and trying contractions of varying strength.

Basically, use the two/three muscle groups to pinpoint the prostate and get pleasure and try to hold that. Trying to hold it specifically on the pleasureable spot leads to small movements feeling pretty damn good. That’s where I get involuntaries.

The other thing is to do levels and let the Aneros rub against the prostate during the in and out motion.

Those to me are the two pleasure inducing activities and the rest is mental.

  6. I have found that the key is to:

    1. Don’t worry about prostate pleasure immediately as it takes time to swell up and feel pleasurable. You can edge by hand a bit, just watch porn, practice meditating, whatever for a while, then focus on the prostate sensations.

    2. Learn to control your PC and rectal muscles separately. I have a “sweet spot” where I am squeezing a bit more with my rectal muscles. I basically squeeze with both then relax my PC slowl, but I don’t let it fatigue. You’ll feel the sensations better if you follow #1. (this is what mindgasm.net teaches.)

Side note: you can cheat a bit to help you get used to sensations. Buy one of those “gun” style massagers and use the flat head on the toy base or at your perineum pressing in a bit to hit the prostate. This will stimulate your internal part of your penis as well as the external a bit (especially if you are wearing clothes that your penis vibrates against) but you’ll definitely feel your prostate.

Also, i recently purchased an absolutely AMAZING toy from Amazon. The wiggle motion feels great. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B089LXC3H4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabc_GWQV1F28VSBPRXD0TTQB?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
