Seeking Guidance

I’m a newbie to Aneros and to anal pleasure in general, but have been frequently exploring for a few weeks now. I’m in a strange place and I was hoping the wonderful butt sherpas on this sub might be able to guide me forward.

My journey started when my wife and I decided to spice things up with a rimming plug for me last Valentine’s day. After a not very successful session, I gave up and it sat into the box until I decided to try again solo a few weeks back. Who would have thought that actually following all of the advice online (lots of lube, loosen things up first, relax, etc… ) would make such a difference. It felt great and I started using it fairly regularly, but every time it felt a little like something was missing from the experience.

Eventually I pinpointed it to a feeling I was getting when I would sit on the plug and rock/bounce. That would make me feel a bit like I needed to pee, but also *really* good. I started thinking of it as my “pre-cum” button because hitting it would make me leak like a sieve ( I know it was my prostate though). After doing this for a bit, I realized the plug was the wrong tool for the job and determined to explore the feeling further, I purchased a vibrating prostate massager with one of those “come hither” rocking arms (this one to be precise: [https://www.adorime.com/products/prostate-massager-anal-vibrator](https://www.adorime.com/products/prostate-massager-anal-vibrator)). This one felt good, but I found the best feeling was again if I were to turn off the “come hither” motion, and rock/bounce on it myself. Whenever it did that I would get that “needing to pee sensation”, but at this point I’d experienced it enough to differentiate it and it started to feel more like a buildup of pressure similar to a penile orgasm.

Despite a lot of trying, this never did lead to a climax and I started to wonder if the toy just wasn’t quite long enough. It always felt like I had to bounce on it because it wouldn’t quite reach my prostate on it’s own, but it also seemed to be angled a bit wrong in that it didn’t push far enough in towards the prostate. For further detail, I also noticed that after these sessions I would frequently end up with terrible blue balls, but that could also be chalked up to the fact that while I was masturbating and edging almost daily, I hadn’t let myself have a traditional orgasm/ejaculation since early in the process.

Fast forward to this weekend and after much research I purchased the Aneros Helix Trident (non-Syn). I was super excited and kind of expected that the minute I inserted this thing it was just going to push right into that spot and I would see fireworks–this didn’t happen. It went in fine and stayed seated and aside from the kundalini tab being a bit uncomfortable it felt fine. I started doing the exercises–multiple recommended positions, clenching my sphincter in and out and what I was feeling was a whole lot more… subtle. There was a feeling of pleasure similar to, but much less intense and different than what I experienced with the other toys. Once I found the pleasurable feeling, if I could continue the rhythm, focus on the pleasure, and not let my mind wander or get distracted I could keep it going and it felt good, but eventually I would lose it. I did pre-cum, but much less than with the other toys.

This experience has been so confusing to me because it was so different from what I expected it to be and now I’m left wondering which “sensation” I’m supposed to be looking for. Is it the more intense pre-cum inducing sensation, or the super subtle “I might just be imagining this” sensation. If it should feel more intense, do I have the wrong aneros? Do I maybe need the euphos because it’s a bit longer, or the progasm which might push more towards where the prostate is?

Also confusing was that when I last put in the Aneros, I used a lube shooter that was a bit longer than the Aneros and happened to move it in one direction that definitely hit right on the button and felt intensely good. Trying to continue with it ended up hurting because it’s hard plastic and not designed for it, but now I’m wondering if I’d do better with an Njoy wand instead of the aneros. Similarly, since the bouncing has worked well in the past, I’m wondering if a thrusting toy might help.

Does anyone have thoughts on these two different sensations and what might help me figure out the right direction to head in?

TL;DR My new Aneros Helix Trident gives a much more subtle sensation than my previous prostate toys, which were far more intense. I can’t figure out which sensation I should be following and whether I have the right tool for the job.

  1. Maybe someone with more experience can offer more specific advice, but to me, it seems like you’re chasing an orgasm way too hard.

    Just relax.

    Enjoy the moment.

Get your mind off of having an orgasm “event” and just focus on the current feelings. If it all feels amazing, what’s the rush to orgasm? Enjoy it and let it build. It will come when you don’t chase it.

  2. I was exactly at the same place you are just a few weeks ago. Fairly new to PP and trying out different toys, positions, techniques to take me further in this very enjoyable journey.
I bought a small dildo, the same Adorime massager as you, a Njoy knockoff and lastly the Progasm Ice. They were all very pleasurable toys and a bit different in regards to the feelings I get from each one. But they all had the same disadvantage, they all left me with the feeling that they couldn’t bring me over the edge into resolution. I had the exact same feelings as you that there was something missing.
That’s until I reached a dry orgasm with the Progasm. It is definitely a more subtle journey with that toy than the other ones I tried out. I can’t compare with the Helix because I only have the Progasm. My advice would be to continue with your Helix, stay relaxed, enjoy the feelings you get from it, do very light kegels and if you feel you are close to the edge, just let the feelings flow and don’t clench on the toy.
If you’re thinking of adding an Aneros, in case you’re wondering if the Progasm would be too large, I can tell you from experience that it’s easier to insert than your Adorime.

  3. From what I’ve read, if you want to get some HFWOs, keep on with the thrusting. If you want to go for the HFDO or Super-O, go with the aneros. The aneros all have both a learning curve and a bit of a muscle conditioning curve, so if you just started you may want/need to give it time.

    > which “sensation” I’m supposed to be looking for

Well from my experience the sensation changes throughout a session. It starts subtle but grows and grows and grows (in waves, not just steady increases). So it’s hard to give an objective answer… But I agree that you should stop trying to steer it so much. If you find something that feels good, don’t change anything and see where it goes.
