Whoever is reposting to superoblog, PLEASE STOP

I had to delete my main because someone is reposting everything to another website before results get deleted. I dont care about the content, but they are literally putting usernames and tagging links. Please have some respect

The fact that things are mainly anonymous should be respected. If someone deletes a post, then its because they didn’t want someone to see it.

Things like this make people less likely to participate in the community if they think their identity might be compromised.

I made some posts that were deleted because I felt they had some misleading information that might confuse someone trying to learn.

To everyone in this sub, please know that all your posts, usernames, etc are all being stored on another website by a user of this sub.

  1. Wow, that really sucks! WTF is wrong with people?!?!?!?! To the best of my knowledge… if you have a bogus account here, your personal info still is safe, no?

  2. It’s a WordPress plugin which grabs all posts from this subreddit and publishes it on this blog. Even this post. This really sucks, yes.

  3. It sucks, sure, and it’s a lame way to fill a blog with content, but to think that deleting a post on Reddit makes it disappear from the internet is unfortunately pretty naive as well… There are plenty of sites that cache posts so you can read them after they’ve been deleted.

The only way to ensure that someone doesn’t see your post is not to post it in the first place.

  4. Well, its cloudflare, so given that every author retains the copy right of whatever they write, a DCMA request at [[email protected]](mailto:[email protected]) should make a difference.

Also: If any European citizen feels frisky, why not write to the local data protection officer. The posts clearly contain personal information that is processed without informed consent – the GDPR has a word or two to say about that stuff.

  5. Is there anything I can do as a moderator to help? Disable cross posting, banning a certain bot, etc.?
