After years of little success with only the occasional nice feeling, I decided to try some THC. I’ve tried 10mg of edibles a few times, and while it makes me feel relaxed and a little more in tune with my body, it doesn’t feel like the “cheat code” everyone talks about. I suppose it feels a bit nicer, but at the same time the high sort of dulls the sensations. Could I be doing something wrong? I find that if I get too high I just get nauseous and paranoid and it’s just rather unpleasant. Any tips would be appreciated.

I’m always wary of the THC trick, myself. Everyone is different, and I’m in the same boat as you when it comes to the unpleasantness of it all. I’ve always found it distracting as a substance, sexually speaking, but everyone’s experience is different with drugs. All that said, it’s been proven time and again it’s totally unnecessary to have a great time.
If you are not accustomed to it then it will not help. You should be comfortable with dosage and how it affects you before trying to get a good session out of it. You may also need to change up the strain you are using. Personally, I use only 5mg doses of hybrid edibles. 10mg would come on too fast/too strong for me but I tend to be a lightweight in general. A good amount should give you a nice body high and make you tingly without creeping up into your head (as you describe). Just in case you haven’t thought of it, also remember that what you ate before-hand can affect how fast and how quickly it will affect you. If you have an empty stomach, it will probably come on much harder and faster than if you have a full one. All of this said, if you’re not comfortable with (can enjoy it), then you don’t need to force it just to have a good time with your aneros.
I don’t know that it helps with the sensations, but it helps me with my mental state. I’m much more relaxed and focused on the feeling the sensations. With regular sex, I’m able to last much longer too for the same reason.
I dry vape weed sometimes.. which for seems to work most of the time. . These days I prefer to meditate first and just go natural.. but weed got me my first super O sessions so Im grateful.
I’ve done with/without and definitely prefer it with. I really don’t like marijuana but it does help me. With THC there are a million different strains/varieties of it, some work much better than others. Pineapple Cake and Fruity Pebbles do nothing for me. Grandaddy Purple is good. But Birthday Cake really does it for me! My sessions are 4x better with it. Even before I insert a toy I can feel my prostate buzzing.
I would look for a good delta 8 vape. Edibles give you a nice high but it’s too slow up and down. Vape gives you better dosage control IMO. I also suggest an indica or indica heavy hybrid. Have not tried a sativa yet.
For more experienced and savvy users, what do you use and recommend?
It may just be a matter of finding the right strain and dosage. Or it may just be that THC is not for you.
For me, THC makes it a little easier to get into the right headspace and relax, but I can do that without it. The bigger difference for me is that the THC heightens everything. It makes all things sexual more intense, but especially my prostate. One or two hits off a vape is enough to get the tingles going even when I’m not particularly horny.
Edibles are great, but they can be a little tricky to use. Effetive dosage varies so much from person to person. And even the same consistent dose may affect you differently at different times due to digestive factors etc. If you’re not opposed to vaping, you might want to give that a try. I mostly prefer edibles, seem to give a stronger body high, but I’ll often use a vape to fine-tune the high if the edible didn’t get me where I want to be. You can’t really redose or adjust your high by taking more edibles, because it takes too long.
Folks who find cannabis/D9 causes too much anxiety or paranoia may want to try Delta 8 THC; it tends to have less of those effects for most people. Just make sure you’re buying from a reputable online vendor who tests their product, no telling what’s in those gas-station carts and edibles.
