Mistakes Can Have Good Results

Still catching up with the history. At this point it was the end of April and the beginning of May 2015. My sessions were still centered on deliberate deep breathing and refining muscle movement.

During two sessions, about a half-hour in, I could feel a rush somewhere behind my balls. It was similar to the feeling I get when I start gently stroking my cock head. Nothing too exciting; just a little something. The sensation evaporated and slowly returned, but slightly amplified, similar to the feeling I get when I continue gently stroking. Then it went away and did not return. I relaxed more in hopes of luring it back, but I fell asleep.

Sleep has been a real obstacle for me. Many times I've been focused on relaxing, then realized my ongoing mental narrative had wandered off into dreaming. I don't believe “alert” and “relaxed” should be mutually exclusive states, and I continue to search for the balance between them. Advice would be welcome.

The training material puts special emphasis on not touching your cock during a session. Touching at the end of a session or after a session is fine, but not during. My original interpretation of this advice was that adding penile stimulation risked setting up ejaculation as a conditioned response to rectal stimulation. I wanted to avoid that so badly that I tried to exclude erections. When I felt my cock stiffen, I slowed everything down until it went away.

Step 2: Go back to step 1, dumbass.

Insertion has never been an issue. I learned long ago how to do that without discomfort. I learned that my body can occasionally be fussy and uncooperative, and coercing it into submission is never useful or satisfying. Stoicism is a loathsome quality.

I started regular practice with the helix in April 2015. Practice sessions have been been easily integrated into my daily schedule, and have provided good reasons to abandon some less rewarding activities.

Much of the aneros new-user training material is devoted to breathing. The advice “keep breathing” is ubiquitous within the literature, and the word “relax” echoes endlessly. My first sessions were application of this advice.

Establishing and maintaining a comfortable deep-breathing cadence required more concentration and effort than I would have thought. I learned that I have a tendency to stop breathing while examining sensations. My mind presses a notional pause button to freeze the action and investigate. Some of my novel internal tingles at this first stage were partially attributable to mild hypoxia.

The second style of advice I found in the training material is that deliberate squeezing of muscles is not useful. My first tries with the MGX had obviously gone off the rails from the start, but I don't believe it was pointless. So long as the trainee understands that tensing muscles is not an orgasm cheatcode, the urge to flex should not be discouraged. Coarse movement is a necessary step in identifying separate muscles and refining their control.

Tell me what you remember about…

I have difficulty maintaining journals and blogs, but I do enjoy writing them. The tension between creating an accurate, clinical record of events and embellishing them into a readable narrative creates a unique thrill. I think this one deserves to start with a splash of personal history.

Anal play has always been a part of my sexual life. Long ago, while hanging out at a girlfriend's house after school, she abruptly told me to take off my pants and lay down on my stomach. I asked for some explanation, and she revealed a long, fat, tapered candle she had silently retrieved from the dining room. My eager compliance with her demand frightened both of us a little. Our second penetrative experience together was, in two ways, a literal inversion of the first.

I first learned about aneros through a written story many years ago–so many that it might have been in a print magazine. The story was told in the perspective of a man in a BDSM relationship. His domina plugged a bizarrely curled plastic dong she named “aneros” into him, then issued a series of commands to tense and release his sphincter. He repeatedly begged for permission to orgasm, but she ordered him not to. Predictably, the story ended with a moment of disobedience and a fountain of semen.

The story planted the name of the apparatus in my mind. The hands-free orgasm was less interesting than being able to cum in quarts. After all, ejaculation is the whole point of orgasm, and more of one must mean more of the other, right?

Help! Stalled and where the F$*K is my sweet spot???

Wow, this is incredibly frustrating.

Some moments of p-wave bliss… Hours of nada. Hours of spent time.

And when you do that and dont eat or drink as much, an interesting by-product is weight loss! I've taken off 6lbs/2.4kg this week. Not entirely Aneros related but spending hours contorted in frustrating tension, you miss eating and drinking. The loss has been dramatic and I'm recovering from the dehydration now. Remember to eat and drink , ?

So, what else has been happening- picked up the MGX to try it. My thinking was my prostate isn't engorging )so I guess(, so maybe something larger than the Eupho? The Helix Syn never did much and the Progasm doesn't move so let's see what the MGX can do- nope! Conclusion: Eupho is my favorite, delivers more sensation consistently which I attribute to its thin/long design allowing it to move more.

Where the F$^K is my sweet spot?
I thought I had it, but after no increase, I decided to go hunting again. Seriously… Cant find it and I've tried all the suggestions in the Fourm and blogs. Anyone out there with more tips ???

So other than becoming frustrated, not much progress beyond p-waves that are low to just below moderate. I can only judge level by comparing to a normal orgasm as being similar for a mini-O, so on a scale 1-10, am able to get to 4 and an occasional 6-7.

Odds and Ends

-Last blog post I made mention of a stuttering issue I was having with the vibrator in the Vice. I had hoped that I fixed it by slightly pushing down the bottom section of the vibrator. While it worked well for a couple sessions, the stuttering came back and was significantly worse, to the point where it would effectively end my sessions when it happened. It wouldn't happen right away, usually after an hour or so of use. It then occurred to me that it really only happens after I switch batteries. That's when I realized what the problem was…..I use rechargeable batteries and I always start with the same battery (for no real reason other than routine). For some reason, that battery works OK (only very occasional stuttering) but the other 3 rechargeable batteries I own cause the vibrator to stutter often. I had a couple non-rechargeable batteries handy and gave those a try in the next couple sessions. Sure enough, the vibrator worked flawlessly both times. I did read that it is not recommended to use rechargeable batteries with the Vice, but was hoping that buying high quality rechargeables (Eneloop) would still work. That apparently is not the case. While the rechargeable batteries worked well for the first several recharges, it looks like after a while they aren't able to produce the steady current needed to keep the vibrator running at a constant speed. Even the one battery that was working fine was started to produce the same stuttering as the others, though not nearly as bad. So now I am testing out various non-rechargeable batteries to see which ones work best and can be purchased relatively cheaply (Duracell is the early leader).

Starting Notes

Figured I'd put my notes on my blog instead of in a Word file. These may be disjoint. Some just random.

Got a Helix about a week ago and just got a Vice (BEAST) yesterday.

I'm not sure yet what can be called a Mino/Micro-O, but I think I've experienced some of those. Am SURE I haven't seen any Super-Os yet!!

My Notes:
————————————————
My first Orgasm type Experience )Just with Perineum Massage alone(

When I started chasing the big SO, I started out with prostate massaging for like 20 min then perineum massaging my sweet spot for another 20–30 min. Best I can tell, there’s a spot ON the north rim of my anus sphincter (my Button) that connects movements there straight to the prostate. And after a while of massaging/twiggling it, the whole ring of nerves there engorges and gets bigger and stiff (like the penis erecting, but of course on a much smaller scale..) Also there’s a point on the top of the perineum cord about an inch or so north of the “Button” which if pressed, greatly magnifies the connection to the prostate. So I end up doing a two finger salute to twiggle there.

So that was my perineum massage. Twiggling those two spots. Got lots of great feelings from the perineum massage, almost nothing from the prior prostate massage, and definitely nothing I could remotely call an orgasm let alone Super–O. So after getting nowhere that evening, I just stopped, rolled over and went to sleep.

Lube and injector recommendation

After trying this out a few times, I think I've settled on water based lube as my go to for my Helix.

Can anyone recommend a specific lube that works? What's a good lube injector, something obviously easy to clean? Something on Amazon prime would be preferable.

Older guys, what worked for you?

I am a 45 year old straight guy who suffers from occasional hemorrhoids. I have up until this point never really done much anal play. I have experimented here and there with fingers but never got anything out of it and thought it just was not for me. I am fairly open about sex but just never got much from anal play. Recently though I ran across the Aneros site after reading about it while browsing /sex, which, by the way, not sure you younger guys realize just what a treasure having all this info at your fingertips is. Wish I had that resource when I hit puberty! At any rate. After reading about the therapeutic effects of prostate massage and it's benefits, that it helps with prostate health, hemorrhoids, and the awesome pleasure, I decided to give it a try. I bought a few cheap massagers but none of them did much of anything. After browsing Aneros for awhile, I decided to try one out. I bought a Helix Syn and have had 10 or so sessions with it in the last month or so. I am in a relationship and have not shared this with my wife yet, though if it goes well, I will. Just not ready to share this yet. That does limit the times I have to play around with it. The first session I immediately got mild P-waves, which, while not close to intense, was a result I had never gotten before. Second session more P-waves at about the same intensity. Both times it started off well and then tapered away as I tried to control things or focused on form too much. Some sessions not much of anything happened, then the last few sessions things seemed to progress a bit. One session I had my first involuntaries, which were interesting but not necessarily pleasurable. Then the last session I seemed to zero in more on which muscles to use and which ones to relax and felt the first stirrings of good sensation, including Pwaves, involuntaries and the tingling. All were fleeting and only happened a few times, but I see progress. reading this sub, the forums on Aneros and the Wiki really helped. The Tug of War method from the Wiki was what helped with the correct muscles to use and I noticed that the less is more approach really helped. I am just fighting a lifetime of muscle memory from traditional orgasms and sex but I can see where the rewiring comes in. Quite awhile back I discovered nipple play and that has been fantastic and the wife takes full advantage of it as do I. That definitely seems to help. My usual method is to wait until after a BM, then get out the Helix and lube up with Vaseline, Coconut oil and water based lube. I do plan on ordering unrefined Shea Butter to see how that works. I have tried lots of positions. The best results seem to come from being on my back with a pillow under my butt, knees straight up with feet on the bed. Standing, walking, sideways or on all fours did not seem to do much of anything. I can tell that I need to strengthen muscles that have seem little use ever to get further down the road. I am excited about the journey. I would love to hear from other older men on their experiences getting started with prostate massage and what worked for them. I wish I had come across this when I was younger and orgasms were still mind blowing experiences. As I have gotten older they have lessened in intensity and I find myself trying to find more and more ways to turn things on, though things are still quite enjoyable. Looking forward to the path ahead!

The Glans Penis, Prostate, and Maximus

Hi guys,

In the 1990's or around year 2000, I had an insight into sensation in my male sexual apparatus. I had reflected on my sexual anatomy from my teens until my 40's or 50's when I got this flash of insight.

Most guys focus upon their cocks and balls from their teens. It comes from the initiation that they receive when they begin to masturbate and then have their first orgasms and ejaculations of semen. Adolescence is a period in a boy's life when they are obsessed with thoughts of sex. First boys masturbate because it feels so good. Most boys then turn their attention to girls and begin dating them. Many boys may even experiment sexually with girls. Likewise some boys may focus their attention upon other boys and may even experiment sexually with other boys. Sexual preference tends to be established for sure in their teens.

Wearing jockstraps and athletic cups for sports, even leisure, helped focused me upon my penis and testicles like nothing else. This focus enabled me several decades later to come up with the Theory of Axis of Sexual Pleasure. When I entered the decades indicated above, I had read a great deal about the role of the prostate in a man's life. A prostate in good health serves two functions: [1] Urinary, and [2] Sexual. I have always been intrigued in how beautiful my mushroom glans is. Over the years, I reveled in the various textures of sensation in the anatomy of my glans. So when I am masturbating, sensation arises in my glans travels down the length of my penile shaft and ends up my prostate, from which the sexual energy travels back to my glans. So an arc of sexual pleasure travels back and forth from my glans and prostate. This pleasure reaches the point of no return during which I achieve orgasm and ejaculation of semen! It is all beautiful!

Mr Fix-it

Five sessions since my last blog post )all with the Vice(, all but one of them fantastic. I can pretty consistently get multiple Os now, and I start getting them much quicker. I’m currently at a point where I don’t think I can progress much further, mostly because I don’t think I have anywhere further to go. I can certainly improve my technique and make small adjustments here and there, but I believe I’ve just about reached the peak of what I am able to experience with the Vice. Hopefully I’m wrong and there is something even more wonderful that I haven’t yet achieved, but even if there isn’t, what I am feeling now in amazing and I am quite happy with it.

Two things I started doing differently. First, I have reduced the amount of time I use the Vice with the vibrator off. No more than 10-15 minutes now, and often not even that long. While I had originally thought I would be better served long-term by spending more time sans vibrator, spending time with the vibrator off made my sessions considerably longer without really adding any benefit. I’ll still use the Helix Syn here and there for non-vibrating sessions, but with the Vice, I am pretty much only going to keep the vibrator off while doing my breathing exercises and warm-ups.
