Is this a me thing or is it just a coincidence?

I jerked off and ejaculate via penile orgasm couple hours (12 hours ish) before my aneros sessions and my sessions turn out to be good.

Some people here say to let the prostate fluid build up for an aneros session

Just weird that I find ejaculating and emptying out the fluid helps me to concentrate more on prostate orgasm (if i go on nofap for a period of time Im more tempted to penile orgasm instead)

I find that there are at least 2 way to contract muscle

And they seems not the same muscle.

One is the PC muscle which same as when you are finish pee. You contract it 2-3 times to squirt out your last urine. It’s also same **pull up your dick** when it’s hard.

**This way it’s like a “↑”,** because when you doing this your dick jumps

Another one is like “–> <–” And it won’t makes your dick jump.It’s like to concentrate on 2-3 cm away from the root of balls, towards to anus but not penis.

(It’s like when you finish the pee. You don’t pee out hard which is reverse kegel. But to squeeze muscle from two sides gently. It can still squirt out some urine. )

When doing this your dick might jump up very little. Or you can even do those two movement together or one after another.

About the second way. It’s not fixed. But very dynamic. You can move the concentrate point more away. And even just on the anus.

Try to squeeze the anus and you should feels warm inside.(If you doing it for 5min or more)

I find that second way might push the massager toward the belly but it still pull back the massage which makes it work like traditional way.But I good point is it won’t make you tired.

Progress update a year into my journey

First I want to say thanks to everyone who contributes to this subreddit – your experiences and tips have been invaluable in my journey and I finally feel like I made some major progress so I wanted to share with you all since I can’t really share with anyone else.

Bought my first Aneros, Helix Syn, last year during my State’s initial COVID closure in March since I’d be home and finally have time to explore. Hadn’t had a ton of success since then: some involuntaries here and there but nothing I’d describe as pleasurable. That all changed yesterday.

Started off my session as per usual – with a bit of porn, nipple rubbing, took a few hits from my vape pen, the works. I really wasn’t focusing a ton on contractions but rather let my prostate dictate to me what it wanted. In the past Ive definitely been guilty of chasing the feelings, despite having read EVERYTHING to the contrary. There really is a mental shift that has to take place. Not just KNOWING to stop chasing/let it happen but actively forcing yourself to SURRENDER. When I finally got in that headspace I turned off the porn and instead of contracting, releasing, rubbing my nipples, watching porn, etc. I just decided to feel whatever happened in my prostate and to concentrate to extend those feelings as long as possible – regardless of whether those feelings were pleasurable or not.

Major progress!

I’ve been playing with the Aneros for about a year, reading in and learning a lot from these forums, but have never contributed. Sorry in advance for the lengthy post, but after yesterday’s amazing session, I just have to share a few useful things I learned. 

First, some background. Before yesterday, I’d had a lot of great sensations, some involuntaries, but no dry or prostate orgasms. Exercised. Before starting, I did several sets of pushups, and some long, deliberate yoga poses, with deep stretches and very slow, very deep breathing. It made my body feel alive and really got the blood flowing. Then I got in bed, on my back with knees up, and inserted the Helix. Almost immediately, I started feeling a tickling and a warmth spreading through my pelvis. Within minutes, the first in a seemingly endless series of mini-Os, which had me moaning, stomach clenching, thrashing.

So, I had a interesting session yesterday. Sorry for the long post, but I feel like it is important to describe it in detail.

Involuntaries – medical explanation?

I sent a similar DM to u/butt_munky who gave me some great pointers, but also suggested that I make a general post.

I have been really struggling to figure out what the involuntaries are, as they seem to be crucial to making progress to good feelings with the Aneros. I have some medical training, so have been trying to figure out exactly what these are, to know if I have been getting them or if I need to redirect my training.

If, as some have suggested, I try to hold PC contractions at various levels of intensity, the muscle will eventually fatigue. This is just like trying to hold an arm curl with a dumbbell for a long period of time. The muscle will start to shake because it has run “out of gas,” going into something called “tetany.” It can be pretty exhausting (as with the dumbbell) to hold this level of contraction, and the muscle trembling is not particularly pleasurable. If I really concentrate, I can sometimes force my mind to think that this is pleasurable, maybe with an occasional very brief “zing” of what I assume might be the start of a P-wave. Most writers don’t seem to indicate that their sessions are exhausting.

So for context: I’ve lurked a while but decided to make my first post after my first major breakthrough. I owned the helix trident until I lost it on a trip recently like a fool. I never had a great experience with it. Minor sensations, comfort, but nothing crazy. This is entirely due to user error and a poor fit regarding what I need.

Which brings us to Monday. I ordered a progasm and peridise to replace my lost model and was excited to try them out. Usually, my butt clenches involuntarily and randomly at the beginning of the session. The progasm was so snug that I had more control over what happened, thus no involuntary squeezes. I also felt less sensation at the beginning, which was weird. I felt it helpful to have this new found control because I could also squeeze with more intention.

Involuntaries… what now?

I can usually trigger the involuntary movements pretty easily with a few *flex and holds* however once the involuntary movements start I am not quite sure what to do next. Here’s what I have tried:
1. Maintain the flex – Requires a lot of concentration, some pleasurable sensations to start but they generally fade and I restart the process again
2. Relax the flex – Involuntaries stop and I have to flex harder again to restart
3. Flex harder – Involuntaries get stronger and it feels like the aneros is fucking me but muscles become fatigued
